We require a credit card to be placed on file when booking an appointment. We also accept prepayment made within the salon in advance if you desire to not place a card on file.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation policy

We require at least 24 hours notice when cancelling an appointment. If the cancellation is made within less than 24 hours of the appointment time, it will be considered a no-show and a cancellation fee will be applied. What is the difference between a partial highlight and a full highlight? +

A partial highlight will give a brightening effect using lightener and foil application and will focus on the top and sides of hair. A full highlight will foil the entire head, and is the less-popular option. If you want to see consistent brightness throughout the hair, or you want to wear your hair up and see consistent color, you should schedule a full highlight. If you’re looking for a touch-up or some brightening to the top of your head, schedule a partial highlight. Your stylist will help determine what the best option is.

What is a single process + highlights? +

This type of color is a base color with highlights added. This is best for grey-coverage clients who want highlights or dimension. If you’re not sure what you are looking to do with your hair, this is the best service to schedule as it allows the maximum amount of time we will need.

What is a toner or color balance and why is there an additional charge? +

A toner or color balance is used to enhance or refine the natural pigment that hair reveals when it is lightened. It also seals the cuticle and adds shine to the hair. There is an additional charge for this service due to the additional product and time needed to achieve your desired look.

What is an ombre color? +

Ombre is a style of hair color that is a gradual lightening of the hair strand, usually fading from a darker color near the roots to a lighter one at the ends. Ombre can be very subtle or very striking. The look you want to achieve will depend on the technique and level of lightness. If you’d like to receive an ombre color, please schedule a two-step color service.

What is balayage? +

Balayage is a technique of coloring the hair that is customizable to each individual and used to achieve dimension. The word “balayage” means “to sweep” in French, this type of highlight is used when wanting a more natural highlight.

I’m not sure if I need a color correction, what constitutes a color correction vs. a specific color service?

A color correction service is for clients who want to make a big change in their hair color, who have had a negative outcome with a previous color service, or if your hair has been colored at home. If you’re unsure of which service to schedule, please speak with our Coordinator who will steer you in the right direction or call to schedule a complimentary consultation.

What fashion colors do you carry? +

We carry a wide variety of bright, untraditional fashion colors. Some examples are mint green, lavender, coral and pink. A consultation is the best route to ensure we have what you are looking for.

Why is there a plus sign next to the price? How do I know what price I will be paying for my hair service? +

Every head of hair is different. The prices listed are a starting point for our services. Our salon coordinators are able to give you an idea of the price ranges we offer. However, during your consultation with the stylist, you will receive an exact price for the services desired. The ‘plus sign’ informs you that the price could be higher than what is listed. An increased price could be applied for very long or thick hair, for example.

Why do the stylists have different prices? +

Each stylist is at a different point in their career. When stylists have reached a certain number of years, their prices are raised to reflect their experience and education. Our Style level stylists have 2-5 years of experience, Senior stylists have 6-9 years and Master stylists have 10+ years of experience.

Does a blow dry and style come with a haircut? +

Yes, all our haircuts and most of our color services will receive a blow dry and style at no additional charge.

Does an updo come with a blowout? +

No. We ask that you come in with hair that is clean and dry. Our stylists will use product to achieve the desired texture and hold for the updo you are looking for.

Do you accept “walk in” appointments?

Sometimes. We would highly recommend making an appointment so that you are guaranteed an appointment. Our appointments fill up quickly, so we recommend scheduling an appointment as far in advance as possible.

What are the different levels of stylists you have? +

We have 3 levels of stylists at The Salon at The Domain. We have a Stylist level who have between 2-5 years of experience, our Senior Stylists have between 6-9 years of experience and our Master Stylists have 10+ years of experience.

Do you offer any discounted or free services? +

While we do not offer any discounts for services, we do have an apprenticeship program with very talented stylists. These apprentices have graduated from school but are learning more at The Salon before taking clients full time. Each apprentice is required to have a model for every skill that is taught. We are always looking for models, free of charge, for these classes. Class is held on Wednesday evenings beginning at 5pm. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a model please send us a message below and we will let you know what type of classes we have coming up.

What if I am not happy with my hair after I leave the salon? +

While we strive to make sure you are happy before you leave we understand that that may change in the days following. We offer a 7 day return policy for all hair services. If are not happy with your hair please give us a call within 7 days of your service and we happily correct any issues you have. Should you inform us after the 7 day period we will evaluate on a case by case basis.
